Addictions and Substance Abuse Awareness
Based on techniques for alcohol & drug counselling, and awareness, this one-day course explores the concepts of addictions and substance abuse. Participants will explore the concept of genetics and the socio-economic determinants of health such as access, employment, and one's social safety net.
Addictions and substance abuse can range from mild to severe thus requiring different levels of intervention and or treatment to address physical and psychological effects, harm reduction and with-drawl management so the consideration of different approaches is discussed through out this course.
